Canada’s Outstanding Young Farmers Program is a unique program designed to recognize young farmers and farm couples who exemplify excellence in their profession. Eligible nominees must be farm operators between 18 and 39 and derive a minimum of two-thirds of their income from their farm operations. Alberta/NWT is one of seven regions that are involved in this national program. Regional Recognition events are held on a yearly basis and the winners from each event then go on to represent their region at the national event where they compete for the title of Canada’s Outstanding Young Farmer(s).

This year’s regional recognition event for the Alberta/NWT region is slated for August 2 & 3, 2023 at Olds College in Olds, AB. The National event this year will be held in Laval, Quebec from November 22 to 26, 2023.
